Job description:


GIZ International Services is looking for a Deputy Team Leader for the EIB funded project
"Programme Management Support for the EU4U Advisory Programme" in
Moldova and Ukraine.


The overall objective of this assignment is to contribute to the recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine, as well as to the economic resilience of both Ukraine and Moldova and to their path to EU accession.


Your tasks:


The position is expected to be full time for a period of 4 years and located either in Kyiv and/or in Luxembourg, dependent on the location of key expert 1.

Between Team Leader or Deputy Team Leader,
permanent presence in both Luxembourg and Kyiv is to be assured.

Either Team Leader or Deputy Team Leader will act also as country manager for Ukraine (i.e. primary point of contact with the key line Ministries in Government of Ukraine), whichever is located in Kyiv.

The expert acting as country manager for Ukraine will assist with the management of the programme in Ukraine and the coordination of the activities between the key stakeholders.

The Deputy Team Leader will also assume the responsibilities of Team Leader in his/her absence.


Your profile:

Qualifications and skills

  • Excellent knowledge of English
  • Knowledge of Ukrainian language will be considered an asset
  • Additional professional qualifications or membership of relevant professional institutions related to a relevant sector is an asset
General professional experience

  • 10 years of general experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in managing or leading project teams
  • Specific professional experience
  • Experience on at least 3 technical assistance projects or programmes in relation to the preparation and/or monitoring of infrastructure investment in accordance with international standards
  • Experience with EIB, EC or other IFIs financed project is an asset
  • Relevant experience in the Eastern Neighbourhood is an asset, more so if delivered in Ukraine
