group investigates the genetic basis of Major Depressive Disorder, the most prevalent psychiatric disorder worldwide, using data from biobanks, electronic health records, and disease cohorts.

The group also studies the molecular basis of the disease and how stress contributes to its risk, using multi-omics data from human cohorts and custom animal models.

Responsibilities:


  • Design mouse stress models that reflect socially induced stress
  • Design spatial and singlecell sequencing experiments on mouse models to examine the effects of socially induced stress on brain transcriptomics
  • Preprocess and quality control on single cellRNA sequencing (scRNAseq) and spatial RNA sequencing (spatial RNAseq) data on mouse tissues
  • Differential expression analysis on single cell RNAseq and spatial sequencing data between treated and untreated mice
  • Integration of data from other omics
  • Design further experiments for validation of results of analyses and perform functional followups using optogenetic techniques and other
Your qualifications

  • PhD in Neuroscience, Behavioural genetics, Psychiatry, or related biological or quantitative disciplines
  • Good publication record with evidence of independence (at least one firstauthor publication in an international journal)
  • Expertise and experience working with mouse behavioural models
  • Strong command of basic molecular biology and laboratory skills
  • Fluent in written and spoken English

Desired:


  • Knowledge or interest in neurological or psychiatric disorders
  • Computing skills including competency in scientific programming in a statistical or compiled language
  • Experience or knowledge of single cell transcriptomics, spatial transcriptomics, or multiomic data integration and largescale data analyses
