Die Stelle im Überblick

Tasks:

Assist in experimental planning and performance of experiments
Expand existing and develop new methods, e.g. a) to isolate and characterize extracellular vesicles from mast cell and neutrophil supernatants, b) to develop gating strategies for flow-cytometry for different types of co-culture
Basic bioinformatics analyses of omics datasets together with experienced scientist
Deliver written and oral presentations of data. Prepare manuscripts for publications (with help of PI and team). Present work at seminars, and conferences.
Assist in lab organization together with the other team members
Research assistants are given sufficient time to carry out their own scientific work

Danach suchen wir

Required:

Master or diploma in Basic Sciences, e.g. biochemistry, biology, molecular medicine or similar
High motivation, passion about research, interest in learning and establishing methods

Skills in essential lab techniques, such as (primary) cell isolation/culture, and/or flow-cytometry, and/or general molecular biology and biochemistry techniques (nucleic acid isolation, PCR, immunoblotting) are desirable; other methods (e.g.

, fluorescence microscopy) can be learned from experienced staff
Organizational talent, good communication skills
Excellent team working, but also ability to work and plan experiments independently later on
Ability to analyze and interpret data / basic understanding of statistics, which can be expanded during the project
Willingness to prepare abstracts and present posters at conferences and prepare manuscripts for journals (with help from the PI and team)
We offer close supervision during the training period and beyond as well as flexible working hours
