Research Scientist (all genders)


As a Research Scientist, you will conduct research activities in Agrokinetics and Moa Diagnostics to expand and develop the research portfolio and to build a long-term, sustainable pipeline and bring novel, innovative Herbicides to the Farmer.


YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the discovery, evaluation and optimization of active ingredients in Weed Control with agrokinetics and mode of action diagnostics approaches, in particular with plant cell culturebased methods and analytical readouts
  • Independently design and conduct experiments as well as independently analyze and interpret the results, systems or procedures; troubleshoot failed experiments, assays or procedures; overcome obstacles and develop alternative experimental approaches
  • Exercise sound technical judgment to solve a range of scientific problems in the agrokinetics area
  • Drive continuous improvement in methodology, processes and formats through own expertise and experience to develop robust datasets
  • Support automation and digitalization to generate operational efficiencies and new scientific capabilities
  • Advance DMPK/ADME understanding and knowledge about Plant Physiology and Plant Biochemistry
  • Interpret and effectively communicate scientific findings in oneonone discussions and/or departmental meetings; Present projects and literature reports

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

  • University Degree in Plant Molecular biology, Plant Physiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacy or associated field.
  • Proven track record as a laboratory experimentalist and a desire to continue in a laboratoryfocused role with a high level of experimental vigor and quality.
  • Demonstrated experience in working independently with biological systems (plants/plant cells), especially generation of plant cell lines and genetic modification of plants (CRISPR experience would be a plus)
  • Experience with analytical methods are beneficial
  • Ability to prepare reports and interpret the results of complex experiments
  • High attention to detail, creativity in problemsolving, strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to successfully work independently and as part of teams
  • A team player with excellent English verbal and written communication skills (proficiency in German is advantageous)

This is a fixed-term contract for one year.
