Internship title:
Flood and Drought Management -what support and user engagement for Hydrological Applications?

Plans for Atmospheric Composition, Marine and Ocean, Climate and Land and Weather exist or are currently under development.


Duties:


  • Discuss with internal stakeholders and the the closest partners the key user communities and opportunities for data exploitation for hydrology that will include the Satellite Application Facility on operational hydrology and water management, including members of their consortium,, as well as hydrological services in EUMETSAT member states and across the African continent.
  • Design an online engagement process to consult the lead stakeholders within the key communities to determine:
  • The core benefits already achieved with EUMETSAT
  • Potential but yet to be explored benefits of EUMETSAT data
  • Barriers of adoption of EUMETSAT data
  • The community needs for information and support in the use of EUMETSAT data
  • The needs of the communities for specific data services
  • Consulting with colleagues in EUMETSAT to then produce the first draft of the Support to Hydrological Services User Engagement Plan

The official languages of EUMETSAT are English and French. It is necessary to be able to work effectively in English.

Skills and Experience:


  • The intern will define and lead a consultation process this will require good communication and listening skills.
  • The intern must be able to prepare a final report in a clear, concise style. The intern should be comfortable working with people from various professional and cultural backgrounds, and be capable of completing some tasks alone.
  • Have the ability to work effectively in English;
  • Be computer literate;
  • Be able to work independently and collaboratively;
  • Have the ability to take the initiative in researching ideas;
  • Have the ability to collect, collate, conceptualize and present information clearly.

No salary is paid to interns who are still in studies, however a daily allowance and contribution to travel / accommodation costs may be provided.

The conditions will be established taking into account the requirements and policy of the intern's educational institution.

Interns are responsible for providing their own health and accident insurance and for finding their own accommodation in Darmstadt.
