For the
»RF and SatCom Systems« division in Erlangen we are looking for you

Within the research project
digital signal processing with artificial intelligence (DSAI), the Fraunhofer IIS is actively developing technology which enables network orchestration and distributed machine learning tasks on the extreme edge.

One objective is to develop, implement and validate machine learning algorithms that can be split among edge IoT devices.

A use case for our technology is the
SyNaKi project, where artificial intelligence is used to analyzse sensor data of tagged vultures in a cross-species association with tagged scavenging terrestrial mammals, such as lions.

This project -in cooperation with the Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research
- enables us to gain deep insights into the ecosystem of living creatures in order to recognize negative developments changes in behavior and to be able to counteract them at an early stage.

You like to contribute to an exciting interdisciplinary project, where state-of-the-art machine learning is used to make substantial contributions to preserving biodiversity?

Then take a look at our offer
What you will do

  • Implementation of stateofthe art distributed AI algorithms
  • Performance tests and comparison of results to common, centralized AI approaches
  • Deployment of validated models to edge devices, such as Raspberry Pis
  • Experimental realization on our hardware demonstrator in the laboratory
What you bring to the table
