This position is supporting the activities of the Intelligent Exterior Systems Activities in Germany, Poland, Belgium and Slovakia (Central Europe Business Units)


His/Her duties involve:

a. ensuring that the company operates within the law at all times, offer counsel on legal issues, and facilitate business strategies development within the Business Unit;
b. assisting business relation and commercial agreement negotiation with Central Europe Suppliers and OEMs (mainly German customers);
c. overseeing, identifying / anticipating, resolving the potential and existing legal issues;
d.

interfacing with other corporate functions impacting his/her geographical scope:
HR, Treasury, Finance, Tax;
e.

Preferred Point of contact for Global operational projects involving Central Europe-based Suppliers and OEMs or with biggest P&L impact in Central Europe.

His/Her internal clients and main interfaces are the B.U.

management Team & Country Directors of IES as well as the various Managers and Team Members of the various departments of the Business Unit (Sales, Purchasing, R&D, Warranty & Quality, Industrial, Safety, Human Resources).


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS:


  • Manage legal and contractual risks for Plastic Omnium's Divisions, covering and addressing all the traditional areas of the function of a Legal Manager:
  • Contracts (sales (OEMS), Partnerships, Supply (Production Component and Raw Material suppliers, Specific Tooling and Capacity-tooling suppliers, non-production goods and services suppliers, etc.) ;
  • Litigation;
  • Risk & Dispute Management;
  • Competition Law;
  • Business And Contract Law;
  • Public Policy;
  • Compliance;
  • Intellectual & Industrial Property;
  • Product liability;
  • Regulatory Affairs.
  • Bankruptcy Laws.
  • Contribute to achieve the strategic objectives of the IES Division and of the Plastic Omnium Group.
  • Implement and monitor internal policies and develop legal awareness through trainings, memos, templates.
  • Manage Compliance issues and reporting:
  • Manage the securization of the Warranty policy:
  • Travel to the company various offices and plants in the territory;
  • Manage external counsels in a cost efficient manner

ORGANIZATION
This position is part of the Group Legal Group.

He/she reports directly to the Legal Business Leader for Intelligent Exterior Systems based in Levallois-Perret, France.


This position interacts both with the Central Europe teams of the other Businesses to ensure cooperation in the strengthening of the legal function and disclosure of best practices aross business as well with the Regional-based legal operation leaders working on IES matters to ensure a global legal policy for the IES Business and transparency of the legal action for IES across the different regions.


PROFILE REQUIRED

  • Education Level:


Master's Degree in law (commercial, contract, international) from a reputed Law German university ideally completed by a non-German LL.M or a business school diploma.


  • Experience:


Minimum 5 years with relevant experience in a company of the industrial sector (preferably the automotive sector or an industry with product liability experience) with international exposure.


  • Skills and Competencies:
Strong track record of performance and legal analysis;
Results oriented and pragmatic approach, with the ability to see the broader picture;
Capacity to quickly integrate industry and company specific knowledge.

Strong ethical independence;
Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
Ability to actively communicate with peers and work with full transparency;
Ability to provide legal support over the Region within an international setting;
Ability to work as a business partner within the Business Unit.

Good language skills:
German native or bilingual speaker, Fluent in English. Other language from the Business Unit Area is a plus (e.g. Polish, Slovak).
