In the Faculty of Social Sciences, Research Unit Sociological Theory (Prof. Dr.

Jörn Lamla), the following position is available as soon as possible:

The position is initially limited to 3 years with the possibility of an extension for a further 3 years. It is a qualification position according to - 65 HHG in conjunction with - 2 Abs.1 Satz 2 WissZeitVG. The completion of a habilitation thesis is possible.

The position is assigned to the Research Unit of Sociological Theory in the Faculty of Social Sciences.

The Research Unit also conducts research in interdisciplinary networks and is particularly active at the Research Center for Information System Design (ITeG) at the University of Kassel.

The focus of research here is on the topic area of "(post-) digital practices and forms of life ". Questions of sustainability are also another major focus of the University of Kassel.


We are looking for a person with broad sociological theoretical knowledge and a proven interest in new theoretical developments, who is also able to build bridges to the interdisciplinary research clusters mentioned above.


Your responsibilities:


  • Scientific collaboration in research and teaching in the field of sociological theory (4 SWS in the Bachelor's, Master's and teacher training programmes of the department of sociology)
  • Independent work on a research subfield in the abovementioned areas with the goal of habilitation
  • Support in academic networking within and outside the University of Kassel through conferences, coordination activities, participation in publications, etc.
  • Participation in thirdparty funded research proposals, especially in DFG collaborative funding programmes

Requirements:


  • Doctorate in the field of sociology completed with very good results. The doctorate must be available by the recruitment date at the latest.
  • Sound and broad knowledge of sociological theories

  • Thorough and independent scientific work
  • High communication skills and didactic competences
  • Relevant experience in the field of qualitative research methods and proven knowledge in the field of sociological practice theories, pragmatic sociology and science & technology studies
