**The team, position & missionOur finance team is a dynamic group based in Berlin dedicated to maintaining the financial health and integrity of our organization.
As a General Ledger Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in this team, ensuring accuracy and compliance in our financial records.
Your mission will be to manage and reconcile the general ledger accounts, providing crucial insights into our financial performance and assisting in decision-making processes.
_Your key areas of responsibility _

_You are responsible for the reconciliation and maintenance of general ledger accounts _

_You prepare journal entries and ensure their accuracy and compliance with accounting standards _

_You assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting _
-
_You analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions _
-
_You collaborate with other departments to gather necessary information and ensure proper documentation of transactions _
-
_You contribute to process improvements and initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in financial operations _

_Completed training in accounting, finance, or a related field _
-
_+3 years of experience in general ledger accounting or similar roles, preferably in a corporate environment _

_Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards in German GAAP (HGB) and IFRS _

_Proficiency in Excel, accounting software, and ERP systems _

_Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills _

_Attention to detail and ability to work accurately under tight deadlines _

_Effective communication and teamwork skills _

_Very good German and good written and verbal English skills _
_It's not a requirement but it would be a plus if you also have experience with _

_Professional certification such as CPA or CMA _
