Duties:


  • Evaluate patients with a full range of needs such as physical rehabilitation, musculoskeletal extremity injury, spine complications and/or injuries, neurological injuries/impairments, pain, and concomitant behavioral health disorders.
  • Develop and implement complex, goaloriented treatment plans for patients presenting with dysfunction and impairments in physical, functional and adaptive areas.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement goaloriented group and/or focused individual Physical Therapy (PT) treatment programs.
  • Develop appropriate evaluation, treatment plans, and recommendations regarding physical requirements, reconditioning, function, fitness, and goals for retention in the military.
  • Develop protocols and standard operating procedures (SOP) for PT programs.
  • Serve as a member of various integrated, interdisciplinary/planning teams that plan, direct, coordinate, and evaluate individual care plans for and progress of patients participating in the program.

  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
  • One year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the DoD Instruction
  • This position requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from, or in accordance with, the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • This position requires regular contact with children under the age 18 and a favorable determination of suitability to do so and periodic reverification check of multiple agency records.
  • This position requires the incumbent to successfully complete and maintain credentialing and privileging requirements.
  • This position requires the completion of a preemployment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • This position may require moderate to heavy lifting up to 45 pounds.

  • Basic Requirement for Physical Therapist:
  • Degree: A graduate (or higher level) degree that included a physical therapy curriculum approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or a professional accrediting organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained, and completion of the clinical requirements prescribed by the school.
  • Licensure: Applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physical Therapist from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States; and must have passed the National Physical Therapy Examination administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT).
  • Exemption: You are exempt from the basic requirements above if you are a current federal employee occupying a position in the 0633 occupational series and have been continuously employed in this occupational series since September 27, 2017 or before

  • In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
  • Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes evaluating physical therapy patients and implementing physical therapy treatment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
  • Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted.

  • Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
  • U.S. citizens overseas under ordinarily resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement.
  • If an employee brings a child to an overseas location and that child is entitled to attend a DoD school on a spacerequired basis in accordance with DoDEA Regulation , the DoDEA and the Military Department responsible for providing related services will ensure that the child, if eligible for special education, receives a free appropriate public education, including related services pursuant to DoDI and DoDM
