What to Expect

  • Tesla is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to join our team situated within the EMEA Field Technical Operations team. The Field Service team quickly deploys to service centers in need of critical support and development across EMEA to handle large backlogs, help with high spikes in workloads and support with diagnostic, repair and process improvements. Field Service also support new market launches, marketing events, tooling testing and service procedure development.
We are looking for individuals who excel in a wide variety of technical process and people development skills.

This position is based through local service center, however it requires regular local and long distant travel to support service centers, engineering teams, PDI hub locations and end of line factory operations.

Communication is highly important and excellent oral and written communication is required.

What You'll Do

  • Perform work in the diagnosis, repair, and service of Tesla electric vehicles
  • Perform a wide range of tasks from electrical, mechanical to software
  • Perform equipment inspections, adjustments and certifications
  • Perform Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) of new cars and rectify early life issues
  • Maintain records of time, expenses and materials
  • Help maintain cleanliness of vehicles and service center
  • Effectively handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet deadlines
  • Regular collaboration with other Service Technicians, Service Advisor
  • Reporting to local Service Management when onsite
  • Perform detailed daily record keeping
  • Operation and maintenance of a wide variety of service tooling and test equipment
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Perform diagnostic level work on electrical and mechanical systems
  • Travel long distances at short notice for long periods of time
  • Availability for occasional offhours calls and work
  • Support new market launches and marketing events
  • Support tooling testing and Service procedure development as assigned
  • Perform Pre-Diagnosis during downtime may be required
  • Perform HV Discharging within region upon request
  • Identify and report early life failures and trending issues during Service visits
What You'll Bring

  • Degree or Certificate from a program in Automotive Technology or equivalent experience.
years' experience as a diagnostic Senior, Lead or Master Technician

  • Factory Trained Master Status / OEM Training
  • Knowledge of: Methods, techniques, parts, tools and materials used in the maintenance and repair of vehicles.
  • Methods, techniques, parts, tools and materials used in the maintenance and repair of vehicles including testing, diagnosis, HVAC service, hydraulic, brakes, testing and repair of electronic systems and modules.
  • Automotive equipment and servicing methods.
  • Experience using scan tools, following diagnostics and operating scopes/DVOM equipment.
  • Chemicals and lubricants used in automotive servicing.
  • Experience in a dealership environment and the automotive industry.
  • Relevant certifications a plus.
  • High Voltage experience is essential
  • Certification to repair A/C systems and handle refrigerant preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to follow instructions required.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work, including the public.
  • Maintain and perform top level professional integrity and appearance as an automotive technician.
  • Valid passport and driver's license
