As a Competence Lead for Power Electronics, you will be responsible for leading a team responsible for delivering multiple world class cutting-edge projects with a focus on power electronics and embedded controls technologies for Rolls-Royce businesses, primarily focusing on power and propulsion systems for hybrid-electric and full-electric power systems.

What you will be doing:

With this exciting opportunity you will get a chance to:

  • Own and support the appropriate section of the Engineering Strategy, and ensure capabilities and resources necessary to deliver the strategy
  • Continuous development and improvement of the center of competence expertise (people, process, methods, tools, training, facilities) to meet future business requirements
  • Deploy assigned staff to approved business activities/technical programmes, ensuring qualified skills and suitability to meet programme requirements
  • Timely identifying development and personal planning risks and initiating countermeasures proactively
  • Contribute to current and future business strategy / programme requirements and support budget and capacity process
  • Ensure compliance to process throughout life cycle activity
  • Ensure that world class expertise is effectively utilised to provide products and services that satisfy business requirements.
  • Results oriented, bold, and strategic decision making in an agile development environment

To be successful in this role you will need to:

  • Successfully completed university studies in a technical discipline (preferably power electronics or electric engineering)
  • Several years of work experience in product development and strong leadership capabilities as well as solid team and project management experience
  • Substantial technical knowledge in control of power electronic devices as well as safetyoriented development standards as ARP4754, DO178, DO25
  • Strong background and capabilities in the field of design, development and certification of power electronics, including experience in the involvement of aviation authorities
  • Highest commitment in finding sustainable solutions, structured working approach, high implementation drive and resilience
  • You are enthusiastic to develop innovative products and paving new ways with Rolls-Royce Electrical in the field of aircraft propulsion
  • Demonstrates sound engineering judgement and knowledge of the Sector Customers and Programmes
  • Demonstrates effective leadership & engineering skills
  • Capable of building high performing teams and effecting a positive shift in attitudes and behaviours
  • Proficient English, fluent German
