Dental Sterilization Technician - Ansbach, Deutschland - US Military Treatment Facilities under DHA

Duties:
- Decontaminates, sterilizes, and prepares instruments for use by supervising dentist.
- Maintain records of processes involving supply and sterilization.
- Utilize specialized instruments in order to assist the dentist in providing treatment to patients.
- Test equipment on a daily basis to determine effectiveness of sterilization.
- Operate ultrasonic cleaners and instrument washers to remove contamination.
- Train less experienced staff on all aspects of sterilization in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Requirements:
Conditions of Employment:
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
- One year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the DoD Instruction
- A preplacement medical examination is required.
- Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
- All Health Care Providers must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) training and certification that is sponsored or endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Current Advanced Life Support or other advanced certification does not supersede BLS completion.
- This position requires Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel approximately 5% of the time away from your permanent duty station.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 25 lbs. in the regular performance of duties
- This position requires a certification as a radiographer and successful completion of an education program that meets or exceeds the requirements as described in 42 CFR Part.

Specialized Experience:
Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 level in Federal Service which includes decontamination and sterilization of dental instruments and supplies; performing quality control testing on sterilization equipment; inventorying supplies to determine reordering needs; and assisting a licensed dentist with various dental procedures.

- Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
- U.S. citizens overseas under ordinarily resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement.
- If an employee brings a child to an overseas location and that child is entitled to attend a DoD school on a spacerequired basis in accordance with DoDEA Regulation , the DoDEA and the Military Department responsible for providing related services will ensure that the child, if eligible for special education, receives a free appropriate public education, including related services pursuant to DoDI and DoDM
