We are looking for a Head of Data Solutions & Architecture - based in Munich.


Your Team

Data is considered one of our major assets and the fuel behind our future success in being the benchmark in the market, enhancing customer relationships, the driver of our competitive advantage and ensuring the company's profitability.


As the Head of Data Solutions & Architecture, you will be a member of Global Data Office (GDO) and manage a team of data analysts and data architects focused on providing data analytics and architecture services to AGCS projects, products, and business stakeholders.


The Impact You Will Have

You will be responsible for various aspects of data management, collection of data requirements from consumers and the provision of solutions to meet the demands, working closely with data engineers and data scientists within GDO and with other consumers in AGCS.

This will include driving enterprise-wide data harmonisation as needed to support the analytics use cases and the ownership and management of the AGCS business data model.


Some of your specific responsibilities could include

  • Lead an international and multidisciplinary team, involved in developing endtoend, datadriven solutions to support strategic priorities of AGCS' business functions.
  • Own and operate the AGCS' Data Governance and Quality frameworks in collaboration with the data domain owners and closely engage with the wider AGCS community and other expert Data teams within Allianz.
  • Design, develop, and implement data architecture concepts in source systems and in processes that populate and store data for use by data analysts in various business functions.
  • Represent GDO in projects, products and initiatives and advise on best practices of Data and Analytics and collaborate with IT enterprise architects to help maintain and expand the AGCS data model within the system landscape of AGCS.
  • Own and promote metadata management and data modelling and support products, projects and initiatives in harmonizing data, documentation of business data terms and definitions and technical lineage.
  • Provide and maintain the respective documents/ frameworks including a Business Data Model and the data requirements capturing process instructions.

What You'll Bring to the Role

  • Insurance knowledge in general required. Specialization in functions like Underwriting, Accounting/Actuarial, Claims, and Operations specifically from a data perspective a plus.
  • Understanding of information systems and data lifecycle management best practises and methodologies, and knowledge in industry standard frameworks such as DAMA, DMBOK
  • Good understanding of Agile development methodologies like SAFe and experience in leading project teams.
  • Experience with enterprisewide data management technologies and knowledge of Erwin Data Modeller, Power Designer or comparable data modelling tools
  • Good understanding of extract, transform and load (ETL) tools, competency in SQL and Data modelling Standards for 3NF and Data Vault
  • Knowledge of Metadata & data governance suits (e.g. Informatica, IBM, DAG, Collibra and Metadata Bridges) and visualization & BI (e.g. Microsoft, Cognos, MicroStrategy)
  • Experience in working in a fastpaced, dynamic and international environment
  • Fluency in English is required
