3 years with the possibility of extension.

Project

Descrip-

tion:

The goal is to identify under which conditions public policies effectively and effi

- ciently mitigate global land degradation. To this end, very large spatial datasets
will be created and analyzed using state-of-the-art econometric techniques for
causal inference, followed by cost-benefit and heterogeneity analyses.***
Your

tasks:

Using econometric approaches such as DifferenceinDifferences, Regression

Discontinuity Designs, and Differences-in-Discontinuities, you will work with co
- authors to quantify the effectiveness and efficiency of various implemented pol
- icies in improving land conditions.

Your

profile:

social science, at least foundations in causal inference (DiD, RDD), familiarity
with agricultural and environmental economics concepts, good communication
skills, and strong interest in the project. Skills in software such as Stata, R, or sim
- ilar is important, knowledge of GIS, Matlab, or Python is an optional bonus***
