Beschreibung

At the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law, scholars pursue research relating to basic issues and current developments in the areas of public international law, European Union law, and the constitutional and administrative law of individual states, together with numerous visiting scholars from all over the world.

In its fields, our library is the largest in Europe and one of the most comprehensive in the world.

The Fellowship enables journalists with several years of experience to spend three months in 2024 at the Institute. The time and duration of the stay (between March and November 2024) will be agreed individually. MPIL Journalists in Residence are free to pursue their own research.

They are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity to exchange ideas with our researchers and to participate in our various work and discussion formats.

The Fellowship is geared towards freelance and staff journalists from all media (print, online, radio, television) who report and write regularly on legal and constitutional topics, or topics from politics, the economy, and research.

A monthly research grant up to 3.500€, based on the fellows qualifications and experience, is offered for the duration of the stay.

The Institute provides desk space and access to all research resources of the Institute's library.
