Job Summary:


The Core Compliance - Associate (M/F/d) role is part of the JPMSE Core Compliance team of the 2nd Line of Defence (2LoD).

The role is based in Frankfurt and the team works closely with other EMEA Compliance teams to support regional and global compliance initiatives and programs.

The role will support the implementation of the compliance practices agenda within J.P. Morgan SE (JPMSE) as well as oversight and coordination of implementation within its branches.

The individual will engage with various JPMSE stakeholders from Business and Control Functions and will necessarily require strong interaction with regional practices to drive consistency and ensure JPMSE considerations are adequately covered as a part of activities supported regionally.

The role will report into the JPMSE Core Compliance Frankfurt Executive Director.


Job responsibilities:

As The Frankfurt Core Compliance Associate you will support the implementation, oversight and coordination of the compliance agenda in JPMSE and its branches, with a focus on specific regulatory required processes and tasks such as:

  • Supporting the development and implementation of MIS for a comprehensive senior management and board report in line and in partnership with regional and global initiatives, including the assistance in the coordination and drafting of the annual Compliance Report for JPMSE.
  • Updating policies, procedures and the local Compliance Manual when necessary.
  • Coordination of the JPMSE Compliance Policy Approval Process.
  • Assisting in the review of regulations, conducting of gap analyses and work with divisional and regional partners to develop policies and procedures within the legal entity and across other group legal entities as necessary.
  • Supporting the conducting of periodic independent 2LoD challenge, oversight and monitoring concerning the identification, impact assessment and timely implementation of regulatory changes, for completeness and accuracy. In addition, supporting the performance of monitoring activities on Conflict of Interest, Outsourcing and Prudential reviews (ICAAP and ILAAP).
  • Administration of JPMSE in person Compliance training across HQ and branches and set up/ update of JPMSE specific online training courses. Supporting the implementation and oversight of the JPMSE Training plan.
  • Assisting in the execution of the JPMSE Compliance Outsourcing oversight governance model in relation to Compliance outsourced activities.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

The role requires an enquiring mind, good analytic skills, very good written and verbal communication skills.


Essential skills:


  • A minimum of three years' relevant Compliance experience or other related experience (such as legal, audit or risk).
  • Strong academic background or work achievements in the financial industry
  • Very good knowledge of German and EU regulatory requirements
  • Excellent organizational skills and very good writing skills (for policies and procedures)
  • Fluency in German and English is essential

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Very good understanding of operating models
  • Sound understanding for risk metrics and reports
  • Excellent time management skills
