The position is to be filled by 10/1/2023 and offered for a fixed term of 4 years.

The fixed-term employment is possible as it constitutes one of the fixed-term options of the Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz (German Act on Fixed-term Scientific Contracts).

This is a full-time position with the possibility of a part-time contract upon request.
The salary is based on the German public service salary scale (TV-L).
The position corresponds to a pay grade of EG 13 TV-L.


Unser Profil:

The newly established Lab for Developmental Psychology and Research Methods (headed by Prof. Dr. Andreas Neubauer as of investigates processes of changes in behavior and experiences across the human lifespan. One research focus is on the motivational and affective processes across adulthood.

In addition to empirical work, which is based on the collection and analysis of intensive longitudinal data (e.g., ambulatory assessments, experience sampling), a second research focus is the development of statistical models for the analysis of (intensive) longitudinal data using simulation studies.


Ihr Profil:


We are looking for a Research Assistant/Associate (f/m/d) with interests in the content-related and/or methodological research topics of the research group, to support our lab in teaching and research starting October 1, 2023.

The preparation of a publication-based, cumulative dissertation is explicitly desired and will be supported.


Prerequisites:

  • Very good University degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in psychology or a related discipline.
  • Very good methodological skills, knowledge of the statistical package R
  • Interest in at least one of the core topics of the lab (lifespan developmental psychology; ambulatory assessment; intensive longitudinal data)
  • Enjoyment of and interest in independent scientific work
  • Very good command of written and spoken English

Advantageous are:

  • Previous knowledge in the use of Mplus
  • Experience in the use of multilevel models and structural equation models
  • German language skills in spoken and written
We expect an independent working style, personal commitment and the ability and willingness to familiarize yourself with new topics (esp. complex statistical methods). We expect strong communication skills, willingness to cooperate and the ability to work in a team.


Ihre Aufgaben:


  • Teaching in the fields of developmental psychology and educational psychology in the amount of 3 SWS
  • Supervision of theses (B.Sc. / M.Sc. Psychology)
  • Advising students within the framework of the methodological advisory service of the Institute of Psychology
  • Independent research in the context of a dissertation
  • Preparation of and collaboration on scientific publications and conference contributions
  • Collaboration in the acquisition of thirdparty funds
