Role Statement:

The Financial Controller will report to the Finance Director and will be based in our Munich Office.

This role will be responsible for the management of the finance function of Municall New Communication GmbH, a Radius Telecoms subsidiary.

Municall is a distribution partner of the key mobile network operators in Germany with a wide range of sales partners who sell onto businesses.


Key Role Responsibilities:


  • Responsibility for preparing and presenting monthly reporting for the business, including management accounts, KPI reporting and analysis, for review and approval by the Finance Director, and onward submission to Group Finance in the UK in line with timetable.
  • Working with the Telecoms commercial team to produce detailed analysis of the performance of the business at a sales partner and network level, covering revenue and margin analysis.
  • Ensure all other adhoc reporting and analysis requirements are produced on a timely basis to a high level of quality.
  • Ensuring that balance sheet reconciliations are performed on a timely basis each month.
  • Responsibility for the monthly payroll process.
  • Review of the intercompany balance reconciliation at month end and timely resolution of any errors.
  • Review and improvement of processes and controls to ensure an effective and robust finance function.
  • Ensure compliance with external reporting requirements (VAT, Business Tax etc.)
  • Responsible for management of the Municall finance team and a day to day basis, as well as setting annual goals and meeting regularly to discuss performance and priorities.
  • Business partnering the senior management team in Munich and assisting with key business priorities where required.

Experience required:


  • Qualified Chartered Accountant with experience in managing a team and financial reporting.
  • Fluent in both German and English.

Particular skill / aptitude required:


  • Excellent leadership and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • High level of competency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with the Datev finance system desirable but not essential.
  • Strong technical financial reporting ability.
  • Ability to work at a high level in a proactive, intuitive and independent manner, but equally able to ask for help when necessary.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills to ensure deadlines are met and issues are dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate high levels of attention to detail.
  • Driven to succeed in all aspects of work.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
