ACE Coordinator / Aircraft Mechanic 3 plans, organizes and executes ACE missions both in country and around the world. Performs the full range of ACE Evaluator and ACE Lead Evaluator duties on all Army Rotary wing (UH-60 A/L/M/V, AH-64 D/E and CH-47 D/F) and ensures all travel plans, equipment, tools and life support items to perform ACE missions are made and available to all team members. The ACE coordinator is responsible for the Leadership, Guidance and wellbeing of each member of the ACE team.

  • Plan and coordinate travel arrangements to and from home base to any required location. He/she must ensure all tools and kits for the mission are in good working order. All living arrangements are finalized, and all transportation needs are met, both to and from the inspection site and on location, if necessary.
  • Responsible for planning and scheduling all aircraft for inspection in Germany, Egypt, Kosovo and Southwest Asia, Honduras and any FMS that may arise. The coordinator must plan with the owning Units to ensure impact to the Unit's maintenance and Operational Readiness Levels are kept to a minimum.
  • Required to track all completed aircraft in Webdesk and ensure all findings and relevant information are entered and sent to the engineering team in Redstone. The coordinator is responsible for providing an explanation to AFMD for each aircraft that does not have its inspection completed during the ACE fiscal year.
  • During an A3T mission to any of the several bases and FOBs throughout Southwest Asia, it is the responsibility of the coordinator to ensure the life support needs of all ACE team members are being met by either the unit or Amentum. This includes interbase movements, flight coordination, housing needs, transportation to and from the airfields, security/safety needs are met, and communication lines are open and available for the team members on mission to the several levels of command in place at each site.
  • Responsible for being the liaison between Amentum and AMCOM for all matters related to the Army's annual ACE/A3T requirements. The ACE coordinator holds the responsibility to ensure all the assigned aircraft meet the DA requirement to be inspected annually and is held accountable for both the success and the failure of that mission.
  • Must communicate consistently and effectively with Senior Noncommissioned Officers (E7, E8 and E9), Senior Warrant Officers (W3, W4 and W5) and Senior Commissioned officers (O3, O4, O5 and up)
  • Have a responsibility to the ACE team to provide Sound leadership, constant training, guidance and professional development to each member regardless of their experience level.
  • Perform other qualified duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Five (5) years of recent applicable aircraft maintenance experience is required.
  • Must meet all qualifications of the ACE Evaluator and the ACE Lead Evaluator as described in TB
  • License is Required: FAA A&P or FCC Elements 1 and
  • Must possess (FAA) A&P Certificate, with a Minimum of one (1) year experience inspecting assigned
    UH60, AH64, CH47 (MDS) aircraft.
  • If no A&P (FCC Elements 1 and 3 will be Required, (**Or the ability to obtain FCC prior to employment), with a minimum Five (5) years' experience as an aircraft mechanic on the UH60, AH64, CH47 (MDS) airframe they will be servicing.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Security Clearance

Note:
US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.


Germany Specific Requirements:

  • Travel: As required in support of task order.
  • TESA approval: Must be able to qualify for TESA approval; must have over 5 years career total Aviation maintenance experience.
  • Valid US Passport required for travel to Germany.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Shall possess the level of experience necessary to evaluate all required U.S Army helicopter MDS for cracks, corrosion, buckling, bending, knicks, gouges, ware, loose and working fasteners, disbonding of fiberglass and composite, and interim repairs on aircraft skin and other structural components.
  • Shall have thorough knowledge of ACE special tools and kits required to perform evaluation.
  • Shall have a working knowledge of making entries in aircraft logbooks & records, military technical publications, utilizing the Army's Logistics Information System (e.g. ACN, ULLS-A and WebDesk).
  • Shall have a basic knowledge of aircraft sheet metal and structural modification and repair.
  • Knowledge of the makeup, operation, installation and modification of a wide variety of classes, models and series of aircraft, their major assemblies, subassemblies, components and related systems.
  • Technical knowledge of the aircraft models and components/subassemblies assigned for maintenance, modification and repair.
