Your role- Develop a digital eye twin that models the mechanical behavior of the eye during physiological functions using SOFA and/or Ansys, simulation environments for soft bodies simulation- Evaluate simulation results against alternative modeling approaches and/or real experimental data- Report and present your research results- Work closely with experts in biomechanical simulation and digital eye twin concept- Work with researchers and engineers in a collaborative environment at the newly built ZEISS Innovation Hub Karlsruhe, right on site of the KIT-campus north

Profile:

You are enrolled in a Bachelor/Master's program in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics (preferably), Medical Technology, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or comparable
You have basic knowledge of structural mechanics concepts and finite element method
Programming knowledge in one of the following is a plus: Python, C++
Fluent English language skills
A handson mentality, an open mind, excellent problemsolving, communication and innovation skills
Passion for innovation and enthusiasm for innovative technologies as well as motivation to work in agile, interdisciplinary teams
