The Faculty of Sociology has the following job opening:
Early-Career Researcher (m/w/d)

Your Tasks

- conducting scientific research and interviews (online and face-to-face) on the project topic (40 %)
- analyzing and coding survey data (30 %)
- preparing research reports and publications in collaboration with the project management (30 %)

Your Profile

We expect
- completed university degree (Master's, Magister, Diplom or comparable) in sociology or a related field of social sciences
- experience in conducting qualitative research (e.g. interviews, ethnographic observations, archival work) and its evaluation Knowledge, experience and/or interest in the research topics of the pilot project (e.g. aid/development, labor/transnational work)
- very good written and spoken English skills
- independent, self-reliant and dedicated style of work
- ability to cooperate and to work in a team
- high communication skills

Preferred experience and skills

- advanced knowledge of other languages (e. g. Arabic, Italian and/or French) for research purposes
- working knowledge of software for coding qualitative data (e. g. Nvivo, MaxQDA)
- experience in practical or applied work related to the research topics is also an advantage
