The project
The advertised position is embedded in the ongoing activities of the Electronic Structure Theory group led by Prof.
Cocchi in the development of computational methods for modelling structural, electronic, and thermal properties of complex materials such as photocathodes for electron beam generation, metal halide perovskites, and coordinated networks for energy storage, (photo)catalysis, and optoelectronics.
The project entails programming work in the field of density-functional theory interfaced with high-throughput screening and machine learning.The developed methods will be applied to predict and characterize realistic materials investigated in the framework of established collaborations with experimental partner groups in Germany and abroad.
Our requests
Prerequisite for employment is a qualifying university degree (master's, diploma, or equivalent) in physics, chemistry, materials science or related disciplines, as well as proven experience with _ab initio_ simulations based on density functional theory, knowledge of quantum mechanics and consolidated programming skills.
