Position Overview:


The Hearing Conservation Technician is responsible for schedule patients and perform hearing tests, otoscopy, otoacoustic emissions (OAE) and immittance testing, complete periodic firing ranges, and base camp surveys to ensure proper use of hearing protection and noise abatement strategies, unit and group hearing protection fitting training and education, and perform hearing safety briefings scheduled by Regional Hearing Program Managers, staff audiologist or physician.

An extender of their work will be to use new bootless audiometers to administer hearing exams in the clinic, waiting rooms, or at other facilities on their respective Army installations.


Qualifications:

a. Associate Degree from recognized university or equivalent degree.

b.

Three years cumulative overall experience in the following areas:


  • Three yearexperience with U.S. Military Healthcare delivery system and benefits or civilian managed care medical/administrative environment.
  • Three years working experience in a medical office or clinical environment.
  • Two yearexperience with the Composite Health Care System (CHCS) and the U.S. Military Electronic Health Record (EHR) system Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA).
  • Fluency in English level C1.

Description of Duties:


  • Provides customer support functions to include providing audiology hearing conservation counseling assistance, educational assistance to U.S. Army personnel, TRICARE Prime beneficiaries, specialty and in/out patient services.
  • Assists in Healthcare Finder functions including healthcare network accuracy, medical specialty determination, and referral processing. Actively counsel's
  • U.S. military beneficiaries to understand referral procedures and assists with communication of medical referrals to military and civilian health care services ensuring TRICARE access standards are met.
  • Adheres to procedures to ensure control, accuracy, and timeliness of transactions associated with Military operations and Health Care finder functions.
  • Follows referral mechanisms to ensure optimal utilization of MTF facilities and resources and to foster coordination of all care including care delivered in host nation's facilities.
  • Conducts an endofprocessing Quality Control program assuring accurate Medical Service information necessary for accessing the Military Healthcare System services, within the DoD Hearing Conservation Program, the Composite Healthcare System Managed Care Module, and the Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA).
  • Perform quality assurance of medical information associated with Assessment Review, which is used for counseling beneficiaries on their health status, ensuring replies are sent to medical providers and military beneficiaries.
  • Provides medical service coordination and education of technical issues associated with the Defense Occupational and Environmental Health Readiness System
  • Hearing Conservation (DOEHRS-HC).

  • Wiesbaden: Reliably commute or willing to relocate with an employerprovided relocation package (required)
