The Institute for Computer Science is looking to fill the following position as soon as possible, initially on a fixed
- term contract until 31. Oct.

2026:
Post-Doc (100%) in Character Stylization and 3D Graphics

The research group 4D Reconstruction is looking for a post-doc interested on developing algorithms on (semi-)
automatic stylization of 3D characters. Under certain conditions, the position can be re-framed to 4D data post
- processing in the context of digital avatars. A student assistant position is available to directly support you.

Your tasks:
Push the boundaries of character stylization from images or 3D scans - Possible

solutions can involve deep learning, generative AI or by building geometry pro
- cessing pipelines with digital artists in the loop.

Work towards a startup spinoff or a research career
Collaborate with researchers working on 3D reconstruction, digital doubles or VR

based training and perception
Design lectures for an interdisciplinary curriculum

Your profile:
Experience in geometry processing or machine learning with a focus on characters

Self-driven personality, capable to work largely independent
A PhD or at least a submitted thesis before the starting date
Publications, ideally on top venues for computer graphics or computer vision

(SIGGRAPH, Eurographics, CVPR, ICCV, etc.)
Proficient in C++ or Python
Fluent in English, proficiency in German is a plus
Basic understanding of character design or drawing skills are a plus
Experience with commercial 3D software (e.g. Unreal Engine, Maya) is a plus
