The role is first and foremost a marketing leadership role integral to the Brown-Forman Germany marketing function that leads the brand and business strategy for the dedicated portfolio.

The responsibility of this role is to lead the American Continent Super Premium Spirits Brand Marketing Team and business in Germany, managing the profitable and accelerated growth of those brands.

The brand portfolio consists of Woodford Reserve and Old Forester Whiskeys and Herradura and El Jimador Tequilas. The role reports into the Marketing Director for Germany & Czechia.


This is a role which requires a significant amount of influence and an ability to lead, inspire and empower the team, consisting of 2 direct reports.

Responsibility includes shaping portfolio strategy and execution, stewarding business performance and building the marketing capabilities of the team to fuel Brown-Forman with ready talent.

The role requires the ability to build strong relationships across the organisation and collaborate effectively with regional and global teams.


This roles requires a brand marketer with a proven track record of successfully leading a portfolio of brands and delivering targets in a competitive environment as well as talent management and development.

It requires managing the short and long term value and brand equity of a portfolio of 5 brands within 3 different spirits categories.


Meaningful Work From Day One- Develop 3-to 5-year strategic growth plan for each of the 5 and portfolio strategies for Super Premium American Whiskey and Tequila.- Develops crisp (clear, results orientated, insightful, strategically aligned and prioritized) annual objectives and strategies for the brands that are aligned to global/European strategies as well as to local business needs.- Active member of the German Marketing Leadership Team reporting to Marketing Director Germany and helping to shape the direction and growth of marketing department, talent and culture.- Provide strategic guidelines for optimizing the portfolio strategy, investment, pricing & promotions, channel & SKU mix strategy and other drivers of the P&L.- Situation analysis of the consumer, trade and business issues and opportunities across the portfolio, mining for insights to inform consumer and channel strategies & plans to unlock volume and value growth.- Bring the brands' propositions to life by developing compelling communication strategies and activation plans together with Trade Marketing, Integrated Marketing Communication and Insight teams.- Work with agency partners, global, regional and local teams to develop distinctive activation programs which meet the German market needs.- Drives and oversees partnerships/co-operations with other brands and companies.- Constantly reviews and evaluates marketing activities together with the team to ensure ROI, make course corrections where necessary and sharing best practice among teams.- Provide strong & visible leadership to team members.- Lead a diverse and inclusive culture where different perspectives are encouraged, and individuals feel connected and valued.


What Exactly Are We Looking For?- Qualified in marketing and minimum 10 years relevant experience.- Proven track record of successfully delivering brand growth in a highly competitive environment.- Proven leadership, strategic thinking and decision-making abilities.- Strong interpersonal skills; able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of internal and external contacts and with diverse cultures.- Strong commercial acumen.- Previous line manager experience.- Able and willing to travel internationally and attend evening and weekend events when needed.


What You Bring to the Table- Fluent English, both spoken and written.- Great analytical skills, commercially savvy and solution focused to solving problems.- Excellent presentation skills and translating financial information in a clear, concise and visually appealing way.- Self-starter with proven ability to identify issues and projects, plan and prioritize with demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple projects to completion by specific deadlines.- Superior communication skills (influencing, listening, presentations, written).- Ability to build strong relationships at all levels with strong stakeholder awareness.- Collaborative team player, with good conflict management skills.- Adaptable, flexible and resilient.
