The Institute of Translational Stem Cell Research (ITS), headed by Prof. Henrik Semb, focuses on developing stem-cell-based therapies to treat patients with Type 1 Diabetes.


We are currently seeking an enthusiastic technical assistant (f/m/x) with a background in stem cell biology to join our team at ITS.

This exciting opportunity involves working on a human stem cell-based therapy for type 1 diabetes (T1D) as part of a collaborative H2020 project, the ISLET.

The position is initially limited until February 28, 2025, with the possibility of extension.

Your tasks

  • Culture and differentiate human pluripotent stem cells towards pancreatic lineages using 3D culture systems
  • Assist in drafting SOPs (Standard Operating Procedure) for new processes
  • Conduct flow cytometry, imaging, and molecular biology techniques
  • Perform data collection and analysis
  • Responsible for laboratory inventory and organization
  • Perform manufacturing in a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) cleanroom

  • Training as a technical assistant or equivalent qualification (e

in); University graduates (BSc) with an interest in the field of stem cells or related discipline are encouraged to apply.


  • Experience with stem cell culture and differentiation
  • Experience with flow cytometry, immunofluorescence, and molecular biology techniques
  • Proficient English language skills (verbal and written)
  • Exceptional organizational and timemanagement skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work efficiently in a team
  • Openness and interest in learning new tasks and skills
