YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:


Job Summary:

The Director Indirect Procurement - EMEA, is responsible for the procurement activities in his/her region.

S/he ensures the regional implementation of the Global Indirect Procurement strategy, maintains proactive communication with all stakeholders on a regional level across countries/states, leads a team of regional category managers within the region in Indirect Procurement and coordinates and monitors cost-saving initiatives on external spend for his/her regions.

This is a cross-functional role that will interact with a range of business functions across EMEA.


The Director Indirect Procurement - EMEA supports the Global Cluster Leads in the development and maintenance of regional and global strategic initiatives across all indirect spend categories.


The Director Indirect Procurement - EMEA reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Indirect Procurement and Procurement Excellence who directly reports to the Chief Transformation Officer (CTO), Member of the Brenntag Management Board.

This role offers a range of development and learning opportunities including (further) building up an international team.


Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:


  • Leads disciplinary a team of Regional Category Managers
  • Communicates with regional Indirect Procurement stakeholders to ensure implementation of the Global Indirect Procurement strategy.
  • Supports the Global Cluster Leads in setting up of sourcing strategies that improve cost, lead times, working capital, payment terms, and transparency of spend.
  • Facilitates cooperation between peer functions and procurement and ensures that information, knowledge and best practices are shared proactively and openly.
  • Researches and identifies capable vendors or contractors and initiates selection, qualification, and approval of new vendors.
  • Evaluates vendor performance and resolves any supplier issues.
  • Proactively identifies value creation opportunities for internal customers.
  • Maintains files and communicates nonconformance issues internally and with vendors.
  • Educates others on procurement policies and procedures.
  • Supports the implementation and maintenance of the Indirect Procurement digital tools in the regions
  • Ensures compliance with all company policies and all regulatory agencies, including but not limited to: Brenntag Code of Business Conduct & Ethics, Antitrust Compliance Policy, Confidentiality Agreement, Global Indirect Procurement Policy etc.
  • Supports the vision and mission of the company.

YOUR PROFILE:


  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in sourcing/buying of indirect categories
  • Bachelor's degree with concentration in procurement, supply chain, engineering, business administration, information systems and/or related fields; MBA preferred
  • Proven ability to lead up to 15 highly qualified employees disciplinary
  • Proven ability in utilizing and leveraging esourcing/procurement systems
  • Excellent teaming, communication and organizational skills
  • Analyze and interpret financial reports, legal documents, and/or other complex documents
  • Solve complex problems
  • Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, and/or members of the business community
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from peers, customers, managers, and/or other employees
  • Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and volume
  • Business English proficiency, ideally crosscultural experience
