We are looking for a Senior Finance Expert (M/F/d), based in Munich.


Your Team

The Impact You Will Have

Reporting to Head of Finance Reporting Solutions, this position plays a key role in ensuring that finance requirements are understood and translated into successful technology solutions.

Your knowledge of accountancy practices and reporting standards will be essential to ensuring that AGCS provides financial solutions and tools that are effective and compliant.

You will work on both business as usual (BAU) activities such as system adjustments or supporting closing processes, as well as significant project work, such as implementing solutions that support new financial standards and ensuring that they are always fit for purpose.

We work in a fully agile environment and this means that you will work closely with stakeholders in multiple departments, across AGCS and the wider Allianz operating entities.


Some of your specific responsibilities could include

  • Support the Closing processes by coordinating and monitoring the activities, identification and resolution of issues or system defects and the analysis of business issues
  • Harmonize, document and implement finance processes and work on change initiatives
  • Work in agile trains to deliver improvements, simplifications or new functionalities
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of Finance aspects in strategic projects and implementation of best practices respectively harmonizing of processes within AGCS.
  • Ensure incorporation of new regulatory and business requirements in the respective Finance Applications & processes
  • Identify and initiate appropriate actions to remediate issues and follow through on their remediation.
  • Guide and mentor junior colleagues.

What You'll Bring to the Role

  • Finance and accountancy experience within an insurance/reinsurance organisation. Exposure to IFRS17 would be preferred
  • Track record of leading projects and deliverables within an Agile environment
  • Solid understanding of operations and technical workflows with regards to financial reporting and closing operations
  • Excellent IT affinity and sound knowledge and experience with SAC/Afo
  • Excellent analytical thinking and numeracy, you are able to identify patterns and root causes in complex data and processes to rapidly distil key issues and provide insight in various situations.
  • Autonomous working style able to identify, interrogate and resolve issues. Comfortable working in complex, ambiguous scenarios.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills able to engage others and deliver to their needs
  • Solid understanding of data modelling, operations and technical workflows with regards to General ledger functionalities and closing operations
  • Naturally curious can demonstrate how you have brought innovation to processes
  • Succeed in a complex, global environment and be motivated by change wants to find globally focused solutions
  • Fluent business English
