Duties:


  • Communicate with providers regarding determinations and/or situations in order to document events appropriately
  • Screen patient charts to assess the medical history and determine health care needs.
  • Change dressings, preps wounds, removes sutures, inserts urinary catheters, applies binders and bandages, applies splints, and performs tracheostomy care.
  • Administer oxygen, intravenous fluids, blood transfusions and all types of medications during emergent events to include intravenous, intraosseous, subcutaneous, intramuscular, oral and rectal routes.
  • Monitor and oversee staff during orientation/preceptorship periods.

  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
  • One year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the DoD Instruction
  • Applicant Must obtain and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Applicant Must obtain and maintain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • This position requires you to be able to lift 50lbs.
  • This position requires the completion of a preemployment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position
  • This position requires a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination.
  • This position is identified as Mission Essential which may require you to work or remain at work during an emergency situation or when inclement weather has curtailed operations (e.g., threat to the facility, natural disaster, delayed reporting).
  • This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
  • You must obtain and maintain Emergency Nursing of Pediatrics Course certification within 6 months of employment.
  • You must obtain and maintain Pediatric Advanced Life Support Course certification within 6 months of employment.
  • You must obtain and maintain Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) Certifications within 6 months of employment.
  • This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
Shifts may be rotated on a regularly scheduled basis

  • Basic Requirement for Nurse (Clinical/Emergency)
  • Degree: A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.

  • Licensure: A current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States; and you must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination.
  • Foreign Degree: A degree from a Foreign Nursing School. Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools.
  • Exemption: You are exempt from the basic requirements above if you are a current federal employee occupying a position in the 0610 occupational series and have been continuously employed in this occupational series since September 27, 2017 or before. Applicants claiming this exemption must meet the requirement below.

  • Degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved by the legally designated State accrediting agency at the time the program was completed by the applicant.
  • Active, current registration as a professional nurse in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
  • In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
  • Education/Experience: A diploma, associate degree, or bachelor's degree in Nursing from a professional nursing program and possession of at least one full year of professional nursing experience (equivalent to the GS-9 grade level or above) which includes performing professional nursing duties to evaluate the patients' conditions (s) in order to select the appropriate level of care.
  • OR
  • Education: A PhD or equivalent doc
