DHL Global Forwarding (DGF) manages the flow of goods and information across a customer's global supply chain utilizing air / ocean / ground transportation, customs brokerage services, and dedicated warehousing/distribution centers.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Chinarail Business Development & Network Management Head located in Germany, Cologne.


Job purpose

Main Tasks

  • Strategic and commercial development of customer base, country activities and products with focus on intermodal solutions
  • Development of key accounts with a high strategic impact on regional level, including MNC and CSI customers
  • Development of customized solutions in the pricing offering
  • Solution Design and concepts including pricing and network development
  • Expanding the intermodal product portfolio connecting the markets and other DHL services
  • Developing and promoting hinterland services to shippers and logistic partners
  • Tackling new geographic areas and sectors and strive for continuous growth
  • Lead and steer the optimization of Rate agreements
  • Ensure a highquality Solution Design, driving continuous improvement initiatives
  • Build new Strategic cooperation within and outside the Company to position our Rail offering to the next level
  • Ensure high quality and standards are met
  • Act as Supplier and Network Relationship Management expert
  • Successful execution of the endtoend Rail Business Development in compliance with the global standards and procedures
  • Keep functional costs as per budget through efficient processes and resource allocation
  • Educate stakeholders on the Rail offering and their deliverables
  • Interpret and/or analyze market trends and provide input for enhancement of internal processes and offering
  • Participate in Global Tender Management relevant discussions or projects in the region

Your profile

  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience/qualification
  • At least 8 years' experience in the Logistic industry with a focus on Rail product and operation
  • Rail product expert
  • Selfstarter mindset
  • Customer oriented attitude / Key Account interaction experience
  • Negotiation skills
  • Executive Management Level engagements
  • Excellent analytic skills, ability to see the bigger picture
  • Strong organizational skills paired with proactive behavior to manage simultaneous complex projects deliverables and deadlines
  • Responsive and not afraid of making decisions
  • Excellent verbal and written English language skills
