Duties:


This is one of four positions in Management Assistance Center (MAC), our "one-stop shop" for management support services to customers.

The MAC supports Locally Employed (LE) staff and US Direct Hires (USDH) and their families assigned to the US Embassy in Berlin as well as those assigned to the consulates in Hamburg and Leipzig.


Incumbent assists incoming USDH employees with pre-arrival communication and appointment scheduling, coordination with the make ready team to assure constant readiness of the residence, welcoming the new families at the residence and providing residence familiarization tour.

They assist with administrative tasks such as developing biometric pictures, filling out forms for opening and closing bank accounts, different local services, obtaining a local driver's license and providing the MAC check-in briefing.

Incumbent provides information regarding importing pets, vehicles, tracking shipment of household goods and liaison with the General Services Office (GSO) section.

Incumbent establishes work relationships with local businesses that are used by the embassy community to improve the process for ordering and canceling services.


Qualifications and Evaluations:


  • Requirements:
Two years' experience in a customer-focused work environment, with emphasis on written and oral communication.

  • Education Requirements:

Completion of secondary school (German:
school leaving certificate, America: American High School Diploma or GED) is required.

  • Evaluations:
Position requires fluent language skills in English (speaking/reading/writing).

Position requires good working knowledge language skills in German (speaking/reading/writing).


This may be tested.

The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
