Research Assistant (Doctoral Researcher/PhD)

The position is offered for a period of 3 years, if no former times of qualification must be considered. The starting date is as soon as possible.

The position is part-time (50 % of regular working hours) with salary and benefits commensurate with a public service position in the state Hesse, Germany (TV-H E 13, 50 %).


Tasks:

- research on the synthesis, characterization and material properties of multinary halogenido metalates
- independent planning, execution and interpretation of experiments
- presentation of research results in scientific journals and at conferences
- include scientific services in research and teaching

The position is limited to a time period deemed adequate for the completion of a doctoral degree.

As part of the assigned duties, there will be ample opportunity to conduct the independent scientific research necessary for the completion of a doctorate.

The limitation complies to - 2, 1 WissZeitVG.


Profile:


  • MScdegree or equivalent in chemistry or material science is required, preferably with a focus on synthetic inorganic or material chemistry
  • Experience in typical synthesis and characterization methods in inorganic and materials chemistry
- very good English language skills and communication skills, both written and spoken
- above-average academic performance
- enthusiasm for research in an interdisciplinary and international scientific environment

Disposition to own scientific qualification (e.g. a doctorate project in the area Inorganic Chemistry with a focus on material science aspects) is expected.
