Postdoctoral Researcher/Scientist (f/m/d) for CP2K development

  • At Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR), over 1,500 employees from more than 70 nations are conducting cuttingedge research in the fields of ENERGY, HEALTH, and MATERIALS to address the major challenges facing society today.


The Center for Advanced Systems Understanding (CASUS), founded in Görlitz in 2019, is a German-Polish interdisciplinary research center focusing on data-intensive digital systems.

To strengthen our CP2K Laboratory at CASUS, we are seeking postdoctoral
researchers/developers (f/m/d)for CP2K software development and user support.

Your tasks
- # Implementing CP2K development projects
CP2K/SIRIUS interface development and user support
Publishing results in academic and peer-reviewed journals
Presenting results at scientific meetings
Providing professional support for other members of the institute


Profile:

- # Completed university studies (PhD) in the field of Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry or a related field
Excellent programming skills in modern Fortran (standard F90 or later, preferred) or another higher programming language (C/C++/Python)
Good knowledge of electronic structure methods for periodic systems, preferably FLAPW
Experience with parallel computing paradigms (OpenMP, MPI)
Experience in one of the following topics is a plus: tools and build systems, sparse matrix libraries, GPU programming (CUDA/HIP), implementation of k-point methods
Experience with Linux, Git, and related tools and with high-performance computing
Strong motivation to work in a collaborative environment
Excellent communication skills in English and in a professional context
