About the position


The overarching goal of this project is to improve adolescent health in the seven project partner countries in sub-Saharan Africa through rigorous population-based intervention and policy research.

Our work in this project will focus primarily on evaluating policies and interventions in the domains of nutrition & physical activity, sexual & reproductive health, and mental health & violence.

As a complement to the impact evaluations running in parallel, this position will focus on planning and conducting mixed-methods performance and process evaluations of these interventions.


Your qualifications

  • Excellent or very good master's degree in public health, sociology, epidemiology, or a similar field.
  • Experience in the planning and conduct of qualitative research
  • Experience in the planning and conduct of quantitative research
  • Interest in global health and public health, particularly related to adolescent health
  • Experience in teaching is preferred
  • Ability to work well in a team and also in an independent manner
  • Ability to work in structured and creative manner

Project tasks

  • Planning and conduct of mixedmethods performance and process evaluations of adolescent health interventions and policies
  • Collection, processing and analysis of qualitative data
  • Collection, processing and analysis of quantitative data
  • Close collaboration with colleagues in the team and international partners
  • Preparation of research papers and conference presentations

  • A 75% position as a research associate with the opportunity to pursue a doctoral degree (Payment will be based on the Collective Agreement for the Civil Service (TV-L). The position will initially be limited to three years.
