    Job Description

    As Material Group Manager (MGM) you will have the global responsibility for all purchasing activities, projects, supplier quality and processes within the material group (MG). You act as the accountable and global contact for the material group within MANN+HUMMEL as well as for our suppliers. In this Role you are responsible for managing the execution of all relevant strategical and tactical purchasing tasks within the material group on global level. As such you manages the material group specific Regional Material Group Manager also in other MANN+HUMMEL locations.

    Your responsibilities:

  • Definition and execution of Material Group (MG) and Supplier strategies
  • Manage supplier strategy & panel, supplier development and quality in cooperation with Quality, Plants and Business Units
  • Coordination of global MG-Team and managing respective Regional Material Group Managers for your commodity also in other MANN+HUMMEL locations
  • Leads global planning, forecasting & reporting of the Material Group
  • Responsibility for achievement of material price development within the MG globally
  • Drives key sourcing decisions in close collaboration with the Regional Material Group Managers / Commodity Buyers and participation in the Sourcing Board
  • Identifies new suppliers, manages supplier relations and supplier related initiatives
  • Responsible for supplier risk management and high level supplier escalation issues
  • Fosters standardization of materials and processes
  • Initiates and implements ratio projects in cooperation with Regional Material Group Manager Commodity Buyers and sites as well as supporting global ratio projects
  • Your Profile:

  • Education: University degree or other relevant education (Master) in Business Administration or related fields
  • Experience: At least 8 years of relevant work experience in purchasing in international environment
  • Required Skills: Purchasing experience in a global enterprise setting; preferably automotive (supplier) industry Experience in respective materials, components, technologies, production processes and supply chain concepts Negotiation know-how and basic legal, contract management skills
  • Language: Fluent in English (written and spoken), good German language skills are a plus
  • Competencies: Highly motivated team player with strong drive to succeed Negotiating skills and persuasiveness Organisational skills, initiative and the ability to work under pressure High willingness to travel
