- Ensuring the damage tolerance and fatigue strength of aerospace structures, including metal and composite structures and components
- Definition and determination of load spectra through measurements
- Selection and qualification of inspection procedures (NDI) according to expertise
- Evaluation of material properties in relation to the environment, material technology and manufacturing process
- Use of numerical methods to determine stress intensity, crack propagation simulation and fatigue analysis
- Derivation and implementation of damage tolerance requirements for components and subsystems
- Ensuring structural integrity and monitoring implementation (Fracture Control Programme)
- Developing damage-tolerant components and subsystems and supporting the implementation of new materials and technologies
Requirements
- Degree in aerospace, mechanical engineering or a comparable qualification
- Several years of professional experience in aerospace or related fields
- Very good knowledge and experience in fracture mechanics, fatigue strength and damage simulation
- Experience in technical analyses of space systems as well as knowledge of mechanics and lightweight construction
- Good understanding of theoretical representation of technical problems
- Confidence in the assessment of technical problems and analytical competence
- Ability to present development results convincingly to technical experts
- Business fluent in German and English, basic knowledge of French an advantage
- Existing work permit for the EU
