Faculty of Chemistry and Food Chemistry the


Chair (W3) of Physical Chemistry
is to be filled as of
October 1, 2024.

You (M/F/x) will represent the entire field of physical chemistry in teaching in all degree programs of
the Faculty of Chemistry and Food Chemistry as well as in degree programs of other faculties with
both German and English as teaching languages. The chair aims at complementing the existing
research directions in physical and theoretical chemistry at TUD in a synergetic way and playing a
leading role in current strategic initiatives of the Faculty of Chemistry and Food Chemistry as well as
those of TUD. Your willingness to actively participate in the academic self-administration, in
interdisciplinary projects (e.g. SFB 1415, GRK 2767), in the cooperation with the non-university
research institutions located in Dresden and especially in the Excellence Initiative of the German
Federal and State Governments 2026 is explicitly desired.

We require successful independent scientific activity with international visibility in the field of
appointment. We expect your research to focus on a current field of experimental physical chemistry
and to provide links to other research groups at TUD and associated research institutes. Furthermore,
we seek a person with extensive experience in teaching physical chemistry, special didactic skills,
willingness to cooperate and to participate in strategic initiatives as well as success in raising third
- party funding. Applicants must fulfill the employment qualification requirements of - 59 of the
Institutions of Higher Education Act in the Free State of Saxony (SächsHSG).
