Your salary will be based on TV-L

  • Your tasks
Work in this project will concentrate on the mechanisms controlling secretion of collagen.

It will include the use of established complex cell culture and experimental mouse models, and analysis by molecular & cell biology, protein chemistry, modern imaging and systems biology.

  • Your Profile
  • Our Offer

We are a small international team of scientists dedicated to better understand molecular mechanisms leading to fibrotic disorders and designing strategies for new therapeutic approaches.

The group is part of an excellent international life science environment with basic science and translational groups (CECAD, CMMC, MPI Age, MPI Metabolism).

  • Your future with us

Working at the University Hospital Cologne and the Medical Faculty means helping to shape the future - the future of medicine, of patients and, of course, your own future.

You benefit from 59 clinics and institutes as well as numerous other departments and facilities and more than 10,000 jobs.

The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Cologne and the University Hospital Cologne assume important social tasks in research, teaching and patient care.

A close network with many university and non-university partners guarantees an internationally successful science and the excellent education of our students.

  • Your future in detail
The hallmark of fibrotic diseases is the excess production of extracellular matrix, in particular of collagen. Deposition of these proteins into connective tissues results in structural alterations and functional impairment.

The aim of this project is to understand and modulate collagen secretion, ultimately aiming at developing novel therapeutic approaches to target fibrotic diseases.

Further information is available here and here.

The position is suitable for staffing with part-time employees.
