Das Institut für Allgemeine Pathologie der TU-München, Abteilung Molekulare Pathologie, sucht ab sofort eine/n Linux Administrator (m/w/d) in Vollzeit.

Who are we?

What you'll be working on:

The tasks to be performed are:

setting up and maintenance of a Linux computing cluster

- installation and managment of the operating system on server and storages (Linux, currently Ubuntu)
- system monitoring, installation of updates/upgrades, backups management
- queue system management (SLURM)
- scientific software installation/upgrade and container maintenance (i.e. docker, singularity)
- documentation of all Linux administrative tasks and procedures

Requirements:

- configuration, administration and monitoring of Linux computing cluster
- knowledge of scripting languages (bash, python, perl)
- experience in automating OS installation
- experience with configuration management tools (i.e. Warewulf, openHPC) desirable
- experience in virtualization and container technology
- experience in installation and maintenance of scientific software, as well as knowledge working on scientific environments will be valued
- familiarity with relational databases are welcome but not required
- basic understanding of the principles of computer security and good practices
- strong diagnostic and analytical skills
- fluency in either English or German is essential

Windows only administrators will NOT be considered

Contract Duration and Other Benefits:
- two-year full time contract with compensation based on skill and experience level (TV-L E13)
- partial home office possible
