Responsibilities:

Develop, implement and continuously reevaluate highthroughput, cuttingedge developability screening strategies for a wide range of biomolecules
Investigate protein structurebiophysical property relationships and establish correlations between biophysical properties and in silico predictions
Design, coordinate and execute formulation studies in accordance with QbD and DoE strategies
Plan and conduct complex experiments on robotic highthroughput platforms, statistically analyze large datasets, document and interpret results
Present and discuss data and scientific literature in internal and external meetings
Scientific supervision of student assistants and research associates
Keep up with the latest developments in the field and integrate the information into the project

Your profile:

PhD degree in protein biochemistry, structural biology, biophysics or equivalent, ideally combined with 2 years of relevant industry experience or M.Sc. plus 5 years of relevant industry experience
Deep understanding of protein structures, biophysical properties, and their relationship
Handson experience in methods and techniques specific to formulation development such as DLS/SLS, SEC, HIC, icIEF, nanoDSF, DSC, Light Obscuration and Flow Imaging Microscopy
Experience in aspects of protein formulation, selection of suitable excipients, and freezedrying process development is of advantage
Strong organizational and outstanding problemsolving skills, critical and independent thinking, ability to multitask, and attention to detail
Expertise in the implementation of assays and workflows on liquid handling platforms is a plus
First experience with DoE, QbD and programming languages (e.g. Python) is a benefit
