Trier University can be characterized as a young campus university with a focus on the humanities and

In Faculty II:
Languages, Literatures and Media Studies at Trier University (Germany), the Department of

English Studies is looking to fill the following permanent position in the Language Teaching section of


the department:
Full time (100%) EAP / English Language Instructor

(American English) (m/w/d)

Start date: 1st October 2023


Salary:
in accordance with TV-L E13.


Role description
The main task of this role consists in independently conducting practical language classes for a total of

sixteen hours per week and managing the associated organizational tasks. Classes will include practical

language classes focused on developing students' oral and written competence in academic English

(anglophone literature and linguistics), advanced grammar, North American culture studies, phonology

of North American English, and translation from German into English, as well as the preparation and

assessment of work in these classes and the associated module exams.

A full-time position entails a working week of 39 hours. The position may be divided between two
