European Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (ESMC) is a joint venture between four technology leaders, TSMC, Bosch, Infineon and NXP, to establish a state-of-the-art semiconductor fab in the heart of Europe. Legal Director

Job Summary/Role

This managerial job to set up the legal function on the ground in Dresden for ESMC requires strong project management skills, business acumen, the ability to work under pressure, efficient and effective processing and prioritizing of multiple projects that have competing deadlines, and attention to detail. The successful candidate also needs good interpersonal skills and the strong motivation to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment that demands interaction with various functions.

• Lead and provide local legal support for all ESMC activities.
• Support key transactions, review, and draft contracts to enable businesses with key partners, suppliers, and stakeholders.
• Manage and collaborate with outside counsels to advance the organizational goal and legal positions.
• Support other legal compliance areas, e.g., antitrust, export control, corporate governance, labor & employment.

Qualifications and Education

• Ideally German law degree and bar exam (2. Staatsexamen)
• Minimum of seven years of legal experience on regulatory, employment, commercial transactions, and/or construction.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; capable of articulating complex concepts and solutions in a multi-cultural environment
• To ensure alignment within ESMC as well as TSMC in Taiwan and Amsterdam
• Semiconductor industry experience is preferred.
• Excellent German and English language skills required. Mandarin Chinese skill is not required but would be a plus.
