Our Enterprise Analytics Platform provides a stable and secure big data platform and tools across the enterprise.

This group is now looking to expand our core data-enabling capabilities to unleash the value of the Company's data assets to gain a competitive advantage in the marketplace.

In addition, we are advancing our journey to Cloud (GCP).

We are using a combination of vendor-supported Enterprise Hadoop technologies coupled with Cloud-native services and use automation for efficiency and accuracy.

As a Big Data Platform Architect (f/m/x), you will be shaping the future of the bank's data analytics platform transitioning it to a hybrid cloud model.

Your key responsibilities

Ensure effective implementation of system architectures including security and data governance features employing effective governance methods across a matrix of teams.
Analyze multiple sources of structured and unstructured data to propose and design data architecture solutions for scalability, high availability, fault tolerance, and elasticity.
Set architectural vision and direction across a matrix of teams. Develop conceptual, logical and physical design for various data types and large volumes.
Assist other architects in the design and implementation of high performance systems with large volume data integration processes, database, storage and provisioning.

Your skills and experiences

Expertise and knowledge in Data Structures and Algorithms, SQL on Hadoop engines (e.g. Hive, Impala, Spark SQL) and OOP languages (like Java, C++, and Python). Knowledge in RDBMS, various NoSQL technologies and BI visualization tooling is a definite plus.
Understanding of database theories, structures, categories, properties, and best practices.
Excellent problem solving skills within an agile team & process culture; ability to identify inefficiencies, duplication and look at ways and means for simplification

Good to have

Demonstrable expertise in Data (or BigData) Engineering e.g. designing, building, operationalizing, securing and monitoring data processing systems with a particular emphasis on security and compliance or developing data pipelines using Cloud native data technologies (Storage accounts/ CloudSQL/ BigTable/ BigQuery/ Dataflow/ Dataproc etc)
Good stakeholder management and communication; ability to translate customer and product requirements into stable, sustainable and reusable solutions
