Responsibilites

  • Work with the regional DFMEA facilitators to ensure good quality documentation and on time completion of the program specific DFMEAs or DRBFMs
  • Prepare regular status reports on the DFMEA KPIs as presented in the APiS software for count of high risk items and reduction of RPNs
  • Conduct program specific DFMEA reviews as the facilitator as necessary to ensure on time completion of the DFMEA
  • Train engineers to be DFMEA facilitators (as necessary)
  • Set up and follow best practices for the DFMEA process, including adhering to the Global DFMEA process of Hanon Systems
  • Continually strive to meet the 10 world class quality objectives for a good DFMEA
  • Participates in the development and maintenance of other risk identification tools such as DFM, DFA, DFT, DFR, Lessons Learned Review
  • Participate in the Corrective Action Process (or 8D) as necessary to assist the design team in finding the failure modes and causes to product failures
  • Available for frequent travel on Company business
Profile

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering with 510 years minimum experience in evaluating product design risk in the automotive industry, via various methods, but primarily with the DFMEA process.
  • Experience in facilitation of meetings involving highly technical people, dealing with strong opinions and ideas.
  • Experience with the product design process of electromechanical products, including the Vmodel approach.
  • Excellent knowledge and experiences in following standards: ASpice, Functional Safety (ISO 26262), IATF16949,...
  • Experience with training engineers in use of tools and techniques
  • Above average analytical, organizational and communication skills both verbal and written in German and English
