We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Solution Architect for the IT unit Business Solutions - Investment & Markets.

As a Solution Architect you will support the architecting and designing of technology and digital solutions ensuring consistency with specified requirements agreed with customers, and with Munich Re Group architectural standards.

In this role, you will enable and guide the design and development of integrated solutions in projects.


Your job

  • Design and implement technology solutions that meet business needs and fulfill the company's security, compliance, and operational requirements
  • Accountability for detailed component specifications and translating these into detailed designs for implementation
  • Support the strategic direction of technology investments to help develop the enterprise architecture and maximizing the return on technology investment
  • Oversee the adherence to appropriate standards (performance, monitor capability, audit acceptability, secure environment)
  • Guiding solutions through the appointed Solution Design Forum as required
  • Achieve the balance between functional, service quality and systems management requirements
  • Communicate of architecture goals to business and consulting during the development of product requirements

Your profile

  • University degree in computer science or similar qualification
  • Several years of experience in designing and developing IT solutions
  • Deep understanding of solution development life cycles, enterprise architecture, and IT risk & security standards and best practices
  • Very good understanding of Microsoft Azure
  • Preferably, you already have relevant certifications, e.g. TOGAF, Microsoft, SAP, or have the readiness to pursue one with our support
  • Strong solution strategy ability, including a demonstrated ability to communicate solutions and their benefits to stakeholders in IT and business units
  • Thought leadership able to monitor market trends and to guide creative thinking on future technology capabilities which will help increase the business value of Munich Re.
  • Fluent spoken and written English, fluency in German is a plus
