Business Development Executive

Role Summary and details


This is an exciting position and varied role requiring strong teamworking and communication skills as well as the ability to build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders, and to work collaboratively with brand, marketing, communications, research and business development specialists across our global firm.

The Business Development Executive will preferably have some experience of working for a global organisation in a fast-paced, professional, and client-focused environment.

With this context, the role holder preferably based in Germany (Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg or Munich) will be responsible for working collaboratively as part of the Continental Europe (CE) and Global Business Development team for the Dispute Resolution (DR) practice group to:

  • Provide day-to-day support to BD Senior Manager and team in CE and internal stakeholders to develop and implement marketing, business development, and client development activities and projects for designated groups and initiatives within DR
  • Support the preparation for and execution of client events, as well as seminars/conferences, including logistics, interfacing with any external organisers/offices and coordinating with internal stakeholders
  • Help draft and produce marketing and BD collateral including lawyer bios, practice profiles and presentations
  • Prepare drafts of pitches and RfPs and supporting BD colleagues on the internal project management of the pitch and RfP production and record in internal systems
  • Assist with data collection for and drafting of directories & awards and management of interview process with internal stakeholders
  • Actively participate in the Firm's matter management and client relationship management systems for the CE DR practice
  • Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders and MBD colleagues to achieve a 'one team' global mindset
  • Be part of an agile and responsive bespoke service model based on mutual respect and appreciation of skillsets across the team
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in the firm's approach to business development, including proactive sharing of knowledge and data to centralised tools
Key Requirements and competencies

  • Educated to degree level; with preferably 1 year of working in a professional business environment (ideally legal, accountancy, technology, consultancy)
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment, prioritize actions and meet strict, often quickly evolving deadlines
