Job Purpose


As the Head Total Rewards EMEA, your primary role will be to focus on providing delivering a clear strategy and leadership in the design, implementation, and communication of Total Rewards & Performance programs.

The role is accountable for having a sizable impact on the performance of EMEA through the design of long-term tactical deliverables that contribute to the Group vision and execute on the EMEA strategy.


The role requires the ability to seek holistic input from internal leadership and stakeholders and the ability to draw on external relationships to deliver solutions and continuous improvement that have an immediate impact on our customers.


The role will establish and support total rewards agenda across Straumann Group's EMEA region, which represents about 50% in overall company revenue.

The business operates in 27 countries and includes all franchises of the Straumann Group business across EMEA.

The purpose of this role is delivering clear strategies to meet the vision of the EMEA organization by enable growth, within the frame of the global Total Rewards strategy thereby contribute toward our goal of connecting people with opportunities.

The role is a member of the EMEA People & Culture Lead Team as well as the Global Contribute (Total Reward) team.


Main Tasks and Responsibilities (with key words)

  • Acts as consultant to HR and business leaders on a wide variety of Total Rewards issues
  • Creates actions for today and solutions for the future
  • Works with key stakeholders to design and deliver rewards initiatives and solutions
  • Oversee the management of job grading and work level framework and implementation across EMEA
  • Drive effective implementation and communication of total reward and performance programs
  • Drive the standardization of total rewards and manage the global rewards governance to ensure equity and compliance across the EMEA market and ensures compliance with local compensation laws and regulations
  • Design materials for compensation and benefits orientations and updates, provide training and support to HR colleagues and business leaders
  • Support in building and driving OKR's related to Total Rewards including Benefits, Recognition and internal mobility
  • Overseeing the participation in salary surveys; analyzing salary survey data and ensuring the pay band tool to ensure compensation programs are competitive and cost effective
  • Evaluating and monitoring the effectiveness of existing compensation practices and recommending solutions that are costeffective and aligned with the organization's short and longterm objectives
  • Identifies technology, tools & platforms that are effective and costefficient in delivering relevant Total Rewards services
  • Manages a small team, conducts goal setting, develops and coaches team members
  • Other assigned tasks, projects and roles (e.g. M&A activities)

Experience & Requirements

  • Degree in Business administration, HRM or similar
  • 35 years tactical and operational human resources experience especially around managing total reward programs in commercial and manufacturing environments within EMEA
  • Experience of working in a multinational and multicultural organization across multiple lines of business/divisions while balancing requirements from global to regional or local need
  • Demonstrated success acting as a consultant for business and HR leaders, providing dvice/recommendations on rewards issues
  • Successfully managed and achieved project goals as it relates to quality deliverables, timelines and budget
  • Strong analytical skills paired with business and financial acumen paired with the ability to build a story for informed decision making based on business context, data, stats and figures
  • Experience implementing competitive enhancements to Total Rewards programs based on best practices, external trends and leveraging analytics tools
  • Experience in job grading & benchmarking essential
  • Experience in international mobility a strong plus
  • Skilled in communicating and presenting complex Reward themes to various stakeholders
  • Customer oriented Teamplayer paired with a passion for learning
  • Fluent in English, any other European language is an advantage
