The position is temporary for three years and serves for further qualification.

Our research group "Translational Vascular Biology" investigates the molecular and cellular mechanisms of the immune systems interaction with the vasculature.

This interface crucially determines a variety of acute and chronic disease states relevant for Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine.

In our translational research projects we enforce "bedside to bench and back"-translational approaches using cutting edge techniques such as scRNA sequencing, vascular myography, multi-dimensional flow cytometry and echocardiography.

Together with highly developed preclinical murine vivo models of surgical trauma, sepsis, atherosclerosis and myocardial infarction our goal is to discover novel therapeutic opportunities for organ protection in perioperative medicine.


Your Duties:


  • Use and development of murine in vivo models
  • Planning and organization of mouse colonies and development of genetic model organisms
  • Close collaboration with clinical colleagues for clinical and translational studies
  • Participation and organisation of research team meetings
  • Project presentations on national and international conferences
  • Education and supervision of medical and biological doctoral fellows and young researchers

Your profile:

- (Nearly) finished dissertation in biology or biochemistry

  • Excellent written and spoken English skills
  • Broad experience in cell culture and experimental mouse models
  • Experience in publishing and grant writing
  • High level of ambition, motivation, selforganisation and ability to work in a team
