The HUB EUC Packaging Specialist leads, develops, and manages improvement projects in close collaboration with the global packaging function, and fully aligned with guidelines shared by Hub and Global Packaging Category Management.

In this role you will be responsible for identifying and managing projects related to packaging optimization for inbound and outbound deliveries, as well as developing processes and documentation related to packaging requirements.

Also, you will be in charge to develop and negotiate beneficial agreements for our units with the relevant packaging suppliers serving our units in Europe.

This role provides specialized packaging engineering support to our factories, detecting new opportunities to increase Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards while reducing Total Cost ownership.

Also analyses internal and external performance reporting, discuss potential improvements with key stakeholders in the factories and CAT team, and develop packaging projects until successfully implementation.

Responsibilities:

Own and deliver key packaging projects to support our transformer factories. Be hands on.
Drive innovation and sustainability projects for the packaging strategy in Europe.
Oversee and support complete packaging development process, including the creation of packaging designs, and specification development with the local teams in the factories.
Influence on packaging design optimization and solutions together with our main packaging subcontractors aligned with the requirements and expectations coming from factories.
Analyze engineering drawings and product specifications to determine physical characteristics of item, special handling, environmental and safety requirements, and types of materials required for packaging.
Aligned with the global strategy, be responsible for the negotiation of prices, delivery conditions, payment terms with suppliers, for regional Hub Europe and on behalf of the local business.
Continually develop knowledge in new areas of packaging and look for innovative and better ways of working by eliminating nonvalueadded activities and improve efficiency, ensuring deployment of global sourcing strategy for packaging and effective execution in line with Continuous Improvement Process Sourcing (CIPS), and promoting fully compliant implementation by all parties involved.
Act as first level escalation for packaging issues resolution/hot topics.
Train targeted business roles as adequate to raise the importance of the packaging related processes and the general awareness.

Your background

Packaging or mechanical engineering degree, along with a minimum of 5 years' experience managing E2E complex projects and process development, in the field of packaging industry.
Customer oriented approach and ready to engage with users. Skilled communicator who can interface with external and internal parties at all levels in a multicultural environment and organization.
Commercial skills to facilitate negotiations and agreements with main suppliers.
Strategic and result oriented mindset to drive continuously the results with clear business awareness and cost consciousness.
Yellow or Green Belt with exposure to lean manufacturing concepts.
Pasion, determination, selfdiscipline, team spirit, integrity, and professionalism.
Fluent in English and local language where applicable.
Strong ability to influence others and set packaging strategies would be a plus.
Willingness to challenge the status quo would be a plus.
Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to run your projects as if it were your company would be a plus.
